Roshany told me that she has known and felt she was a travesti since she was 6 years old. When she was 16 she won a beauty contest for TSs at a disco in San Jose called Deja Vu. She said the trip to the coast was with a guy who wanted to photograph her too. But, she said, G rated type pics more or less fashion stuff. She said her family knows and accepts her as a travesti and I got this from everyone of them I asked btw. So at least within families, the Costa Ricans are fairly tolerant. Actually they are a very tolerant country overall, as Latin countries go. She is a Nica, (Nicaraguan) and very well hung, which seem to be more common amongst the Nicas. She was one of my favorites. {From Lefty, our freelance photographer who worked with Roshany}; I first met Roshany standing on the corner of calle 3 bis and ave 9, across the street from Zona Blue. It's about 2am. Three other guys and I had just came back to the guesthouse from a disco and we got out of the taxi on the corner a half block from the guesthouse. I spotted her right away as a possible travesti and someone to check out, but she was talking to two other gringos. I hang back a ways and wait to see what they're gonna do. The two gringos break away from her and start walking down the sidewalk toward me. When they do I head up the sidewalk toward her. As they pass me, one says: Forget it. It's a dude. I ignore them and of course am happy to hear that which I had already concluded. As I reach the corner, she is crossing the street already and I yell at her to come back. She returns and we talk and she says she would be happy to model. We walk down to a parking garage, and get a pen from the security guard and she writes down her address and phone #. A few days later, I am looking for her to arrange a photo shoot and she is nowhere to be found. A couple of others, say a b/f has taken her away to the coast. I call her hotel and then talk my taxi there. My driver talks to the guy at the door and he said that she went to the coast but will be back monday. So tuesday I stop by again, and talk to her and arrange a meeting.
